Questions
Asked and answered.
The questions agribusiness owners actually ask. Reviewed September 2026.
What does farm and agribusiness insurance cover?
Property, liability, equipment, and the specialized exposures of ag operations: grain in storage, machinery, buildings, product liability, and the trucks that tie it together. Programs are built per operation rather than off a template, because a feed mill and a cow-calf operation share almost nothing.
Can you insure the farm and the trucks together?
Yes, and it's usually better that way. One team quoting the agribusiness package and the trucking program means no gaps between the two policies and no finger-pointing between two agents when a claim touches both.
What kinds of operations do you write?
Farms and ranches, grain elevators, feed and pet food mills, fertilizer and ag-chem dealers, food processors, and the warehouses and equipment operations that support them. If it feeds into the ag supply chain, it's the world we come from.
How much does farm insurance cost?
There's no honest average: premiums follow property values, acreage, stored commodity values, payroll, and liability limits, so two operations of similar size can price very differently. The useful number is a quote built on your actual schedule of values, and that costs nothing.
