Livestock hauling

Insurance built for livestock haulers

Hauling cattle isn't hauling freight. It's hauling someone's livelihood, alive. Our family runs Livestock Loads, so we work with markets that understand live cargo and the people who move it.

What is livestock hauling insurance?

Livestock hauling insurance is commercial trucking coverage for carriers moving cattle, hogs, sheep, horses, and other live animals. It pairs commercial auto liability and physical damage with motor truck cargo written for live cargo, where what the policy says about animals injured or lost in transit matters more than the limit on the page.

Why livestock haulers pick us

Part of the Livestock Loads family

Our family runs Livestock Loads, the cattle hauling board. We know sale barn schedules, ranch-to-feedlot runs, and what a wreck with a loaded pot actually means.

Live cargo is different

We work with markets that understand insuring live animals in transit and will talk through exactly what your cargo coverage does, and doesn't, respond to, before you need it.

People who answer the phone

Questions

Asked and answered.

Does cargo insurance cover animals that die in transit?

It depends entirely on the policy's terms, and this is the single most important question in livestock coverage. Many policies respond to death or injury caused by a covered event like a collision or rollover, while losses from temperature, suffocation, or unexplained death may be limited or excluded. We walk through exactly what your cargo form does and does not respond to before you bind.

How much does livestock hauling insurance cost?

Typical livestock haulers with their own authority run $10,000 to $18,000 per year per truck for a full package, higher than general bulk freight because live cargo claims are severe and the market for them is small. Those are typical figures, not a quote: your record, radius, and cargo limit set the real number, and quoting it is free.

Do you cover ground loads and sale barn work?

Yes. Sale barn schedules, ranch-to-feedlot runs, and ground load operations are the day-to-day of our livestock book, and our markets have seen them all from us before.

Can you insure horse transport?

Yes. Horses raise the per-head value conversation, so the cargo limit and the per-animal terms get extra attention, but they're a class we quote.

“Bulk Insurance Group is the easiest to deal with that I've had the good fortune to get introduced to, and they saved me lots of money in premiums! Other offices can say that agencies all have the same cost, but buying in “Bulk” has to help all of us get a better deal.”
Charlie Simmons
“This is my second year with Bulk Insurance. They helped me move out of Progressive and hopefully help me save a ton in my 3rd year. No complaints so far. Zach is the man!”
